 Job Summary

This is an individual contributor position suitable for someone with 5+ years’ hands-on experience administering Windows systems and networks in a security-sensitive corporate environment.

The System Administrator is responsible for all aspects of ByAllAccounts’ internal IT environment, comprising 100 personal computers, a dozen servers, a firewall, a phone system, and various software packages and databases. 


Responsibilities:

  •        Windows domain administration

  •         Server, workstation/laptop, and peripheral acquisition, installation, and configuration

  •         Software acquisition and installation

  •         Corporate IT security policy definition, implementation, and compliance monitoring

  •         Network and VLAN configuration and monitoring

  •         VPN configuration and monitoring

  •         Centralized software and operating system update management

  •         File system and database back-up management


Minimum Requirements:

  •     B.S. in Computer Science or similar technical discipline, or equivalent experience, and be MCSA/MCSE certified.

  •     Candidate must have at least 3-5 years’ experience in the following areas:

  •     Administering Windows 2003 server, XP, Vista, and Windows 7; both 32-bit and 64-bit

  •     Administering a Windows domain of 50+ computers

  •     Deploying domain-wide security policies via Active Directory

  •      Computer and printer configuration

  •      UPS configuration and maintenance

  •      Hardware troubleshooting

  •      Configuring centralized Windows Update

  •      Configuring and monitoring centralized security software such as anti-virus and IDS

  •      Configuring firewall rules

  •      Configuring VPNs and secure remote access

  •      Working with external software service providers, such as POP3 email, web hosting, Intaact, and Salesforce.com

 
Preferred Skills:

  •           Disk encryption

  •           Microsoft Exchange

  •           VMware or other virtual machines

  •           Web servers: IIS, Apache 2.x, also Tomcat

  •           Databases: Oracle, SQLServer, mySQL

  •           SugarCRM

  •           MediaWiki

  •           Perforce

  •          Panasonic phone systems
