James is a co-founder of the firm. He and his teams have had a proven track record of effectively building, marketing and selling highly scalable, complex solutions on time and within budget.
Prior to co-founding BAA, James was a co-founder and CEO of Bidder’s Edge, the largest online auction portal servicing greater than 500,000 users on a monthly basis with information available on over 8 million items on a near real time basis. Company revenue grew in excess of 100% each year with expanding profit margins. Prior to Bidder's Edge, James was a co-founder and CEO of Workgroup Technology Corp., which developed product information management systems for the engineering and manufacturing environments. The company had a successful IPO on the NASDAQ exchange. Previously James was CEO and co-founder of WSI (a UNIX based system integrator that developed solutions for the engineering market) which was acquired by BOM Nesbitt Burns; and he ran the Northeast Operations for Computervision, the worldwide leading provider of CAD/CAM systems.
James holds a BS in Finance from Babson College.
Ellen is a co-founder of the firm with over 20 years of experience in software development. As Executive Vice President of Engineering, Ellen manages the development and delivery of the applications and services components of ByAllAccounts’ patented reconciliation-ready data subscription offering.
Prior to co-founding ByAllAccounts in 1999, Ellen was a Consulting Software Engineer at HighGround Systems where she worked as lead database engineer and senior individual contributor. Previously, Ellen held individual contributor and project leadership roles at Datamedic Clinical Systems, including development on an NIST ATP grant project to automate ICD9 and CPT coding of patient encounters based on the clinical record. Ellen began her career at Digital Equipment Corporation, where she worked as a software engineer and project leader, first in the Commercial Languages and Tools group, and subsequently in the Database group. Her development work at DEC includes compilers, CASE tools, and CDD/Repository.
Ellen holds a master’s degree in Software Engineering from the Wang Institute of Graduate Studies and a bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She enjoys duplicate bridge, researching family genealogy, and expanding her perennial and vegetable gardens.
Martin Dickau is a co-founder and chief technology officer of ByAllAccounts. He oversees production service operations and development of ByAllAccounts’ data acquisition and processing technology. Before co-founding ByAllAccounts, Martin was a software fellow at Workgroup Technology Corporation and a principal software engineer at Digital Equipment Corporation.
Martin holds a bachelor’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Joe is a veteran executive with strong experience in building and scaling companies from start-up mode through IPO and post public M&A activities. Joe’s 30 plus years experience working with high technology companies in the financial services industry translate into valuable experience in how you guide, scale and manage small businesses, or in Wealth Management area practices, from idea through growth and profitability. Joe drives strategic sales initiatives, field sales and business development activities for ByAllAccounts.
Joe is charged with accelerating sales of the company's account aggregation solutions to registered investment advisors and building relationships with clients and partners. With over three decades and more than four separate IPO's, Joe has proven he understands how to maximize the opportunities for growing companies, especially as new revenue models such as SaaS have emerged. Prior to joining ByAllAccounts, Murphy was the senior vice president for Verdasys, an enterprise information protection services provider, where he was instrumental in re-aligning the corporate sales model, establishing a government business unit and developing reliable sales metrics, management policies and more effective compensation models. Before Verdasys, Murphy's senior management experiences included Genesys (eventually sold to Alcatel), GeoTel (eventually sold to Cisco), Success Metrics/Birst, where he deployed a SaaS model for rapid revenue growth, and Speechworks.

Cynthia has more than 15 years of experience in marketing and research that includes a proven track record of leading high-impact marketing initiatives to drive market visibility, acquire new clients and expand account relationships. At ByAllAccounts Cynthia leads the firm’s overall market positioning and brand strategy.
Previously, Cynthia was Director of Marketing at Compete, one of the fastest growing technology companies in New England. As an early employee at Compete Cynthia helped build the company’s brand among Fortune 500 marketers, which contributed to the successful acquisition of the company by TNS Media in 2008. Prior to Compete, Cynthia served broker dealers, independent financial advisors and asset management firms in her roles at The KELYN Group and ByAllAccounts. Previously, Cynthia held several roles at the forecasting and consulting unit of Standard & Poor’s (formerly Data Resources, Inc.), including Marketing Director, where she helped executives understand the impact of global trends on their businesses.
Cynthia is a member of Boston Women Communicators. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wellesley College. Cynthia is an avid photographer - her work has been included in exhibitions across New England.
